Before I became an acupuncturist, I was a patient. I injured both of my wrists from repetitive exercise to the point of immobilization. My first inclination was visit an acupuncturist. Without any apprehension I went in for my first visit, then second, and by the third needling session, the pain had disappeared and a range of motion had returned. Was I surprised that it worked? Not one bit. After all, acupuncture has been going strong now for over 5000 years.
