<p>The weekly <a href="http://www.wellwire.com/living/what-were-reading-1">What We’re Reading</a> series is a place for you to keep up with what our WellWire team is reading about on blogs and news sites across the Internet.</p>
<p><strong>October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month</strong>. Are you checking your own breasts <a href="http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/content/CRI_2_6x_How_to_perform_a_breast_self_exam_5.asp">every month</a> at home? <a title="FreshTrend - Boob Lube" href="http://www.freshtrend.com/2009/10/boob-lube.html" target="_self">Boob Lube</a> (funny name, we know) reminds you to do so every time you soap up&#8230;And here are a few <a href="http://www.wellwire.com/topics/prevention/5-way-to-reduc-your-breast-cancer-risk">more ways</a> to reduce your risk.</p>
<p>Autumn is a natural time to turn our attention inwards and reflect upon the fruits our labor from the summer and spring. Steven Redhead takes us thorough a <a title="Healing Reality" href="http://www.healingourworld.net/featured-article/healing-reality/" target="_self">philosophical discussion</a> on how our perceptions influence and create our life, health and the surrounding environment.</p>
<p>Dudes, who are also fathers, this blog is for you! <a title="Natural Papa" href="http://naturalpapa.com/" target="_self">NaturalPapa.com</a> is well written and has some really great articles. Derek&#8217;s latest topic discusses <a title="Natural Papa - Co-sleeping with Baby" href="http://naturalpapa.com/attachment-parenting/co-sleeping-with-baby-attachment-parenting-for-dads/" target="_self">co-sleeping</a> with a baby. This is what we like to see: men taking an active role in their health and the health of their families!</p>
<p>Weeds! Here in the Pacific Northwest, the summer drought season is over and now the weeds start to take off as the rains return. It gets tiring pulling weeds on a weekly basis. Here are some recipes to make <a title="TipNut - Homemade Weed Killer Recipes" href="http://tipnut.com/weed-killers/" target="_self">homemade weed killer</a>. You know it&#8217;s safe and natural if you make it yourself. No hidden ingredients.</p>
<p>I love this <a title="Inhabitots - Toothpaste Taste Test" href="http://www.inhabitots.com/2008/12/29/the-toothpaste-taste-test/" target="_self">toothpaste taste test</a> by kids. What a great idea! Get a bunch of little ones together an do a natural toothpaste taste test with them. My favorite quote: <strong>“if I had to brush my teeth with that again it would make me sad.” </strong>Ha, gotta love the honesty!</p>
<p>What about you, what are you reading?</p>
