Beautiful skin really starts from the inside. Your body should be in a good condition so that you will a glowing skin appearance outside. I'm taking Omega 3 Fish Oil Extra plus i drink a lot of water and a well balanced diet. This is what i do to make my skin healthier.

Grace, good question! Food is the first medicine, so yes, diet will affect the short term and long term health and thus beauty of the skin. Ruling out an actual skin disease, skin hydration and dryness can be affected by such things as how much water you drink and the type and amount of essential fatty acids found in foods like cold water fish and various other nut and seed oils.

Ann,Thank you for your great reminder! Yes, it is true that for healthy skin you need to focus on both the inside (restoring a healthy physiology) and using proper skin care products. - Dr. Gibran Ramos, ND, LAc

As an holistic nutritionist, certified aromatherapist, registered nurse, and professional formulator of personal care products with a personal testimony after a life-time experience of rosacea, it is very satisfying to see articles such as this. It starts from the INSIDE. This is how we teach our classes and this is what we practice. We can clear up someone's skin, but as soon as they begin to eat junk again, all of our efforts go by the way side. It is extremely important though to monitor what you put ON your skin as well. Organic, natural, and paraben-free are essential. Dermatologists told me to go "oil-free" - NOT good advice. Natural oils, natural products without synthetic chemicals are where the answers are for clean, natural, healthy, vibrant skin!

Final note! When you sweat and detoxify you MUST clean the skin afterwards with a good natural, synthetic-free cleanser, otherwise the toxins sit on your skin and cause MORE problems. They don't just disappear. Yes, nutrition is the foundation. Truly organic and natural skin care products are essential as well. They go together - like a horse and carriage. Okay -you'd have to be my age to remember that one!
