Dr. Misty White
Dr. Misty White has a bachelor’s degree in physiology and neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego where she worked for the student-owned food co-op and learned about the importance of healthy food options for the individual and the planet. While at the co-op she expanded the herbal medicine offerings and became aware of the option for taking her pre-med training to naturopathic medical school.
Dr. White completed two years of residency at the National College of Natural Medicine and in Orlando, Florida with Kirti Kalidas, M.D., N.D.
For many people, digestive health is central to overall health. Dr. White explores issues central to digestive health such as gluten and other food sensitivities. She writes about the subject on her blog and gives talks in the community about gluten sensitivity.
Dr. Misty White is in private practice in Milwaukie, Oregon at Northwest Natural Medicine. Her practice encompasses primary care, integrative medicine, toxicology, IV therapies, weight loss and nutritional counseling, autoimmunity, mood disorders, hormonal balance, and physical medicine. Dr. White believes in merging the best of conventional and alternative care. She is passionate about how the brain, hormones, emotions, and immune system work together. She is also an adjunct clinical faculty member, training the physicians of the future at the National College of Natural Medicine.
When not in the clinic, she enjoys sailing, rafting, playing dominoes and gardening. This year, Dr. White is growing some gluten-free grains from seeds she picked up while on vacation in Peru.
